Medical Sales Manager

 

Evolve BioSystems Inc. – Field Based Position in Northern California (preference San Francisco, East Bay) 

Reporting to the Director of Medical Sales, the Medical Sales Manager serves as an integral member of the Evivo® sales team and will be responsible for delivering breakthrough sales results, while using industry best practices and emerging sales techniques. Call points will be Hospitals and primary Health Care Professional (HCP) including neonatologists, nurses, dietitians, purchasing, pharmacy, general pediatricians, midwives, lactation consultants. The Medical Sales Manager will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment. 

 Key Deliverables: 

  • Deliver sales and meet/exceed sales objectives for the Evolve BioSystems product line (90%):

    • Drive rapid market adoption of Evolve’s products via hospital adoption and sales as well as strong HCP recommendations 

    • Implement the institutional and medical sales strategy 

    • Develop relevant understanding of the competitive landscape and prioritize hospital opportunities 

    • Plan and execute activities such as, but not limited to, in-services, webinars, value analysis/pharmacy & therapeutics meetings etc. necessary to drive sales in hospitals and at the consumer level 

    • Apply the sales process, organize & communicate clinical information to build customer confidence & drive sales 

  • Business Planning and Territory Management (10%):

    • Develop a quarterly business plan, execute the plan, and own the results while maintaining and expanding customer base 

    • Provide analytical insight to territory sales, issues and opportunities 

    • Manage territory budget for activities and programs 

    • Innovative; deliver new ideas/suggestions, market trends and competition to Evolve team 

    • Function as a subject matter expert for the business, brand and consumer 

    • Implements sales effectiveness measurements (region segmentation, customer relationship management, key performance indicators, etc.) required to ensure organizational success

  • Excellent goal-oriented selling: consultative selling skills geared towards specialized healthcare practitioners complimented by strong knowledge of hospital and mom/baby sales channels 

  • Superior communication: ability to convey complex scientific information, orally and in writing; conduct effective persuasive presentations 

  • Effective time management: able to set priorities and deliver results while expanding reach to increase sales 

  • Highly developed strategic ability and an entrepreneurial, team-oriented approach 

  • Demonstrated computer, CRM, social media mastery: understanding of the end user in addition to the hospital customer

  • Strategic envisioning: There is a need to develop a strategic medical sales team, as well as to aggressively explore new approaches for growth; therefore, evidence of aligning strategic plans to support the company vision and bring it to life will be critical. This will require an ability to translate strategy into territory specific goals, objectives and an execution plan that encompasses the unique characteristics of the territory; e.g., geography, hospital, landscape, customer mix, etc.

  • Sales Development: There is a real-time demand for sales excellence that strives for greatness, allocates resources and builds capability. This person will deliver expected results and move boldly to capitalize on the market trends. Positive results will fuel growth and strategic initiatives, leveraging knowledge of hospital negotiations & contracting process. Therefore, driving growth in a commercially responsible manner through the development and management of sales strategies, building key relationships, and translating scientific discovery into sales is critical.

Experience/Education: 

  • 5+ years of progressive medical sales experience in a hospital environment 

  • Experience in NICU selling and/or probiotics 

  • In-depth understanding of customer base, medical channel 

  • Quickly adapts to the learning curve: assimilates the science, competitive products and competitive selling strategies within their market 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram 

  • A strong cultural fit; an individual with integrity, ethics, strong collaborative and consensus-building skills; open, honest, entrepreneurial and committed to inclusion 

  • Bachelor’s degree; Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian or Registered Nurse preferred 

Geographic Work Conditions: 

  • 20-40% travel to interface with customers on a daily basis and effectively achieve territory call objectives and business goals. This includes attendance at required training/sales meetings/medical meetings 

  • Valid Driver’s License is mandatory
