Medical Marketing & Professional Development Director


Evolve BioSystems Inc. – Corporate office Based Position in Davis, Ca 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Medical Sales & Operations, the Medical Marketing & Professional Development Director serves as an integral member of the Evivo® Medical Sales Team and will be responsible for managing, building and delivering breakthrough Medical Marketing Communications, while using industry best practices drive explosive and sustainable growth of Evivo with the Medical Community. Specific audience will include Hospitals, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and primary Health Care Professional (HCP) including neonatologists, nurses, dietitians, purchasing, pharmacy, general pediatricians, midwives, lactation consultants. The Medical Marketing & Professional Development Director will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment.

Key Deliverables

  • Deliver breakthrough medical marketing communications to the medical community for the Evivo brand (80%):
    • Provide strategic vision for Evolve’s success with the professional customer and develop short term and long term medical marketing initiatives to drive Evivo growth
    • Develop and lead the medical marketing strategy as well as the execution of all marketing activities including HCP communication, marketing mix, measurement, budgeting, etc.
    • Act as a steward of the brand, the medical customer base, and the overall business
    • Function as a subject matter expert for the business, brand and HCP customer
    • Develop actions to seize market opportunities based on HCP insights, brand analytics, competitive activity, and category dynamics
    • Analyze program effectiveness against success criteria, optimizing continuously for improvement.
    • Support the Medical Sales Team; organize & communicate clinical information to build HCP customer confidence & drive sales
    • Partner with consumer brand team to ensure consistent communication and identify/leverage synergies
  • Elevate the awareness of Evivo via professional development opportunities to drive sustainable growth (20%):
    • Support the institutional and medical sales strategy; drive rapid market adoption of Evivo via hospital adoption and sales as well as strong HCP recommendations
    • Lead the implementation of the HCP Conference Strategy; including strategic planning, professional development with key decision makers, pre-and post logistical planning
    • Develop and implement medical education initiatives to elevate awareness and drive recommendations and in-hospital use of Evivo. Activities may include in-services, webinars, value analysis/pharmacy & therapeutics meetings, advisory board meetings, etc.
    • Grow the HCP Community through timely & relevant communications and professional development

  • 5+ years of medical marketing / communications experience towards HCP and/or hospital consumer
  • In-depth understanding of HCP customer base, medical channel
  • Quickly adapts to the learning curve: assimilates the science, communicates the benefits/reasons to believe, dissects competitive products and competitive selling strategies within their market
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram
  • A strong cultural fit; an individual with integrity, ethics, strong collaborative and consensus-building skills; open, honest, entrepreneurial and committed to inclusion
  • Prior medical sales experience preferred
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred
  • Experience in pediatrics, probiotics or life sciences a plus!

Geographic Work Conditions: 

  • 25% travel to Medical Conferences and/or HCP Customers. This includes attendance at required training/sales meetings/medical meetings
