Research Associate, Molecular/Microbiology

Evolve BioSystems Inc. – Davis, CA


Reporting to a Director, Immunology & Diagnostics in R & D, the Research Associate will be responsible for advancing Evolve’s portfolio of proprietary products toward commercial development. This person will leverage acquired skills in molecular biology and microbiology to influence and support both current and future work streams within the Company. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment at an early stage company.

Essential Duties:

-       Collaborate with the Research and Development team to contribute to ongoing research and product development

-       Lead and develop new research as per Company strategies

-       Characterize and develop novel products to expand the Company’s portfolio and improve existing products

-       Rapidly integrate new knowledge and novel tools into research

-       Develop key insights gained from experimentation in a timely fashion

-       Prepare reports and careful documentation of findings to support research and influence commercial strategies

-       Education (BSc or more) and experience ( > 2 years) in a related field

-       Industry experience in related field

-       Hands-on experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, qPCR,

qRT- PCR, ELISAs, mammalian cell culture, bacterial cell culture

-       Experience with leading next-generation sequencing technologies
