Research Associate, Product Development and Quality

 

Evolve BioSystems, Inc. – Davis, CA

The Research Associate will support the development and quality of Evolve’s growing portfolio of proprietary microbiome products. This person will leverage their skills in microbiology, chemistry, food science, or related areas to influence both current and future work streams within the company. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment at an early stage company.  The position is based in Davis, CA and reports to the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Research and Development team to improve existing products and to characterize and develop new products to expand the company’s portfolio

  • Execute in-house quality testing, including product evaluations and shelf-life testing

  • Support of analytical chemistry activities including maintenance of HPAE-PAD and the preparation of samples and analytical standards

  • Assist with writing standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols and quality documentation

  • Prepare reports and careful documentation of findings to support research and influence commercial strategies

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum BSc degree with 3 years experience in a related field

  • Hands-on experience with microbiology required

  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology methods a plus

  • Product development experience in a food or probiotic company a plus
