Research Associate, Tissue Culture/Molecular Biology


Evolve BioSystems, Inc. – Davis, CA

Reporting to the Director of Immunology & Diagnostics, the Research Associate will be responsible for advancing Evolve’s portfolio of proprietary products toward commercial development. This person will leverage acquired skills in molecular biology to influence both current and future work streams within the Company. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment at an early stage company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Research and Development team to contribute to ongoing research and product development
  • Lead and develop new research as per Company strategies
  • Characterize and develop novel products to expand the Company’s portfolio and improve existing products
  • Rapidly integrate new knowledge and novel tools into research
  • Develop key insights gained from experimentation in a timely fashion
  • Work with Clinical Operations to facilitate collection, inventory, and analysis of biomaterials from clinical trials
  • Prepare reports and careful documentation of findings to support research and influence commercial strategies

Ideal Experience/Education:

  • Education (BSc or more) and experience (> 3 years) in a related field
  • Industry experience in related field
  • Hands-on experience with tissue culture (primary and cell lines)
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology methods (western blots, qRT-PCR, ELISA)
  • Understanding of molecular diagnostic development
  • Microbiology techniques, including bacterial cell culture a plus
  • Experience with leading next-generation sequencing technologies a plus
