Senior Manager, Market Access

Evolve BioSystems Inc. – Field Based Position in the USA 

Reporting to the Health Alliance Director, the Senior Manager, Market Access to serve as an integral member of the Health Alliance team. The role of Senior Manager, Market Access is to optimize product revenue via third-party payers and maximize outcomes for reimbursement. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment. The Senior Manager, Market Access will require strong business acumen, superior sales skills, and a strategic mindset due to the range of targeted customers and complex sales cycle. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales objectives (80%)  
    • Incorporate knowledge of payer (Medicaid, commercial) reimbursement / coverage trends and policies to ensure optimal access to Evolve portfolio. 
      • Develop in-depth understanding of targeted accounts, competitive landscape and prioritize opportunities across various payer types
      • Establish relationships with key customers (i.e. Commercial insurance, Self-Insured, Medicaid, Managed Care Organizations, Pharmacy Benefit Managers) 
      • Recommend best reimbursement pathways for new and existing products
      • Negotiate and Secure agreements with target accounts in line with Health Alliance strategy
      • Develop execution plan for Medical Sales team when agreements are made to help drive profitable sales at the local level
      • Attend and participate in national industry conferences as needed to strengthen business relationships and drive sales objectives
  • Business Planning (20%) 
    • Develop, review and modify business plan quarterly, execute the plan, and own the results
    • Provide analytical insights, roadblocks, and opportunities for target accounts
    • Prepare proposals and presentations as needed to meet business objectives
    • Engage in robust, productive, and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders. Deliver new ideas/suggestions, market trends and competitive activity to leadership team
    • Function as a subject matter expert for the business, and brand
    • Maintain and utilize Microsoft Dynamics365 as the customer relationship management database including tracking of sales activity and to ensure that data is accurate, complete and up-to-date
    • Implement health alliance effectiveness measurements (national account, access & reimbursement prioritization, customer relationship management, key performance indicators, etc.) required to ensure organization success
    • Manage travel and expense budget and submit reports per policy

Ideal Experience/Education

  • 3-5 years of national account management experience in business-to-business sales; ideally within the healthcare industry and hospital environment
  • Experience working with third-party payers (i.e. Commercial insurance, Self-Insured, Medicaid, Managed Care Organizations, Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Exclusive Provider Organizations, Pharmacy Benefit Managers) with documented ability to meet customer’s need, while delivering business results
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain existing working relationships with c-level, medical officers, Chief Financial Officer and procurement officers
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred
  • Proven track record with excellent negotiation skills

Geographic Work Conditions

  • Field-based position in US
  • Willing to travel domestic (and international) up to 60% 
  • Valid Driver’s License is mandatory
