Molecular Biology

Reporting to the Associate Director of R & D, the Senior Research Associate will be play a key structural role in advancing Evolve’s portfolio of proprietary products toward commercial development. This person will leverage extensive background in molecular biology and next-generation sequencing techniques to influence both current and future work streams within the Company. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment at an early stage company.

Essential Duties

  • Collaborate with the Research and Development team to contribute to ongoing research and product development
  • Lead and develop new research as per Company strategies
  • Manage a high throughput next-generation sequencing pipeline
  • Organize and collaborate with researchers for large-scale, high throughput sample analysis with a variety of molecular techniques
  • Contribute to molecular process and technique development and/or optimization
  • Work with Clinical Operations to facilitate collection, inventory, and analysis of biomaterials from clinical trials
  • Prepare reports and careful documentation of findings to support research and influence commercial strategies
  • Manage, develop, recruit, and train direct reports

  • Education (BSc or beyond) and experience ( > 3 years) in a related field
  • Industry experience in related field
  • Hands-on experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extractions, bacterial cell culture

  • Experience managing high throughput pipelines and large-scale sample libraries

  • Experience with leading next-generation sequencing library preparation (16S rRNA, shotgun sequencing, etc)
